From AIS Bulletin #213 April 1974 Introducing LOVING MEMORIES (F. Brown '74). Sdlg. 68-168. TB, 36" M-L. Closed standards are cream colored; clean white falls are flaring, fluted, with all petal edges serrated; bright lemon-color border; heavy lemon beard. This flower has much distinction, and has been much admired and photographed. I consider this Iris one of my very best, and the name is a memorial to my only child who passed away a year ago. Apropos X Celestial Snow. $25.00. Landsend Gardens. |
LOVING MEMORIES (Mrs. F. A. Brown, 1974), was my favorite of the regional irises, but it was only in the home garden. It was a perfectly formed creamy white with infusions of lemon and a lemon beard and just the right amount of lace with superlative branching. Without a doubt, Mrs. Brown's best iris is LOVING MEMORIES. [Dyer, Perry (1974). "Roanoke 1974, and Points West." The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, Vol. 55, No. 214, July 1974, 29.] |
