MABEL TAFT. A giant Dominion violet blue, particularly outstanding among irises of this color class. Long admired by critics visiting the Taft estate, and Mr. Wareham has always been urged to introduce this. Each $10.00; three for $25.00 [Cooley's Wholesale pricelist, 1932]
From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1940: MABEL TAFT (Wareham) One of "the world's largest irises, having enormous blooms on tall powerful stems and large luxuriant foliage. The flowers are violet-blue with sheen of velvet on the falls. 3ft. 35c; 3 for 75c.
