From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: MAGENTA (Cayeux 1927) M. 39". This is a wonderfully beautiful flower, with a coloring that is absolutely unique. The color is a bright amethyst and appeals to everyone. It has been one of the drawing cards of our garden at every blooming season. The flowers are large and of splendid shape and the plant is a strong and vigorous one. Mr. Percy Murrell rated this 91 and declared it to be a glorious and distinct color. C. of M.
