'Magic Palette' (Chun Fan, R. 1994). Seedling# F91-616-B. TB, 33" (84 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Standards sulphur yellow, faintly dotted and veined pale violet; falls yellow ground, sanded and streaked vivid red violet, sulphur yellow edge, darker red violet center stripe; beards yellow orange; slight sweet fragrance. 'Oh Babe' X 'Mel's Honor'. Fan's Iris 1997.

From AIS Bulletin #305 April 1997 Introducing MAGIC PALETTE (Chun Fan '97) TB, 33" (84 cm), EM. A romantic plicata with rich jewel tones reminiscent of 17th Century Venice. Antique gold upright and swirled standards are set off by the rich plum border of its well-rounded frilled falls of buttery yellow and cream ground. Tangerine beard. Very vigorous with excellent branching. 6 buds; 10 stalks. Big hit at the Sacramento 1996 AIS Convention. F91-616-B. Oh Babe X P89-102 (Mel's seedling). $40.00. Fan's Iris Garden.
