From Bay View Gardens, 1966: MAHALO (Ghio '66) M. 36" Mahalo, Hawaiian for "thank you" fits this refreshing, yet dynamic, iris extremely well. The tightly held standards are a silvery light blue. The extremely ruffled and broad semi-flaring falls are a metallic red-violet which slowly blends into the blue edge-might be thought of as a blue reverse Emma Cook pattern. Blue beard, fine branching, and vigor completes this much discussed new beauty. No. 61-23K: (Melodrama X Twilight Sonata). HC '64. $25.00. |
