From Indian Spring Farms catalog, 1927: MAJESTIC (Bliss 1923). Enormous flowers of finest form, great substance and lasting quality. S. circular and arching, nearly 3 inches broad, light lavender to mauve, stained light bronze at the base; F. straight hanging, smooth and flat, 2-1/2 inches broad, rich velvety raisin purple. An exceedingly good-growing plant with stout, branching stems. 42 inches. $10.00 each. |
From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: MAJESTIC (Bliss 1924) M. 42". One of the best Dominion seedlings. The enormous flowers are of fine form, great substance and lasting qualities. The circular arching standards are nearly 3 inches broad, light lavender to mauve, stained light bronze at the base. The falls are straight hanging, smooth and flat, 2-1/2 inches broad, a rich, velvety raisin purple in color. The flower is a strong grower, with branching spikes. A profuse bloomer and a fine landscape variety. $.65. |
