From Wing Seed catalog, 1919: MAJOR — (Ger.) Early. Immense flowers. S. purple- blue; F. dark purple. 15c.
From Treholme Gardens catalog 1928: MAJOR 74 (1840) E. 82 G. 84 26" V. E. S. Hortense violet, slightly waved; F. velvety pansy-violet, veined same, outer haft. Blue and violet bi-color. Almost identical with Firmament. 35c.
