2008, Dejoux

'Mammy Blue' (Roland Dejoux, R. 2008) TB, 41" (105 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards white washed mauve; falls slate blue washed mauve, white edge, brown rays on shoulders; beards orange, slate blue horns; slight fragrance. Seed from René Dauphin. 'Magic Man' X 'Sky Hooks'.

Roland Dejoux's comment: The main reason why i've registered this iris is for it's striking erect horns. It is also a strong plant, wind resistant, that grows fast and blooms a lot! René dauphin's wife's mother was particularly fond of the colour blue, therefore 'Mammy Blue'.

Commentaire de Roland Dejoux: j'ai enregitré cet iris pour son éperon très originale en forme de cornes . De plus, c'est une plante robuste, solide au vent malgré sa grande taille, florifère et à gros développement . 'Mammy Blue' est un hommage à la maman de Colette Clavel, la compagne de René dauphin. Elle aimait tout particulierement la couleur bleue.
