From Maple Valley Gardens catalog, 1949: MAPLE SUGAR (Whiting 1948) No. 4363 (MARISHA X AMITOLA) X CHINA MAID) X (HARVEST MOON) Late midseason, 38 inches, Very smooth, creamy tan self, as lucious as maple sugar candy. It is not as dark as the Dictionary of Color, plate 14, J 8, called Maple Sugar, but nearer to pure maple, plate 11. E 4. The flowers are medium large. shapely, well groomed and of excellent substance. Strong hardy plants produce stalks of good height and adequate branching. $7.50. |
