'Martile Rowland' (Howard Bushnell, R. 1999). Seedling# 90-0-2. TB, 36-38" (91-97 cm), Early bloom. Ruffled and laced lemon yellow, falls fading to white around uniform fire engine red orange beard; slight spicy fragrance. Seedling# 86-LL: ('Lighted Within' x 'Christmas Time') X seedling# 86-AA6n: ('Christmas Time' x 'Flaming Victory'). Fan's Iris 2000. Honorable Mention 2004.

From AIS Bulletin #317 April 2000 Introducing MARTILE ROWLAND (Howard Bushnell 2000) TB, 36-40", E. Sunfast lemon yellow flaunting large red-orange beards. Beautifully ruffled, lightly laced blooms of heavy substance, perfect form, and large size. 3-4 branches on heavy stalks produce 7-9 buds. Exceptionally large root system makes for a vigorous plant. A breathtaking beauty worthy to bear the great soprano's name. (Lighted Within x Christmas Time) X (Christmas Time x Flaming Victory). $40.00. Fan's Iris Garden.
