‘May Charm’ is listed for sale in Mrs. Whiting's catalog for 1948 in a section she calls “Personality Parade for 1948". This is a group of irises that she had been selling under number to garden visitors. "So many people have urged us to name them, even suggested names for them. . ."
From Maple Valley Gardens catalog, 1951: MAY CHARM (W. 1948) No. 4259 (MIRABELLE X ANGELUS) M. L. 36 in. Large dusty pink self, sister seedling of PATHFINDER. Strong and well branched. $1.00.
