'May Romance' (George Crossman, R. 1969). Seedling# 68-13. TB, 30" (76 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-RV3PF. Standards pale orchid, tinted pink (RHS 73C); falls purple-violet (80B); coral-pink beard. Seedling# 64-36 ((seedling# 62-16 ('June Meredith' x 'Fleeta') x 'Esther Fay')) X seedling# 6519 ('Rippling Waters' x 'Whole Cloth'). Gene & Gerry's Iris 1971. Award of Merit 1972.

From AIS Bulletin #202 July 1971 Introducing MAY ROMANCE (George Crossman (71). $25.00. Sdlg. 68-13 (((June Meredith x Fleeta) x Esther Fay» X (Rippling Waters x Whole Cloth») RV3PF. TB. Mid. 30-32". Ruffled overlapping standards of pale orchid tinted pink, above flaring, ruffled and fluted falls of purple-violet. Beard of coral pink. Good substance and branching with an average of seven (7) buds. Healthy blue-green foilage. Gene & Gerry's Iris Garden.
