From Tell’s Iris Garden catalog, 1948: MERRY ROSE (Muhlestein) (Lancaster x Daybreak) Very large, smooth rose-pink self. Branching is high and rather poor, but almost every garden visitor wants it. Has quite a lot of garden value. 38 inches high. Produces some smooth seedlings with good branching. $5.00
Muhlestein's Merry Rose has poor branching, but it has given him lots of excellently branched seedlings... (Tom Craig, 1949). Robins' Roost, AIS Bulletin 116(January 1950):53.
