'Mission Trails' (Mary Ellen Knopf, R. 1957). Seedling# 1778. TB, 36" (91 cm), Very late bloom. Color Class-V5, Standards pansy violet; falls heliotrope blaze, edged lighter than garnet-brown hafts and border; orange brown beard. 'Spanish Peaks' x 'Inca Chief'. Knopf 1958.

From AIS Bulletin #149, April 1958. Introducing MISSION TRAILS-sdlg. No. 1778 (Spanish Peaks X Inca Chief). One of the most beautifully formed and heavy substanced blends we have seen. Standards pansy violet (Wilson's 033/3) closed and ruffled. Falls same color with a heliotrope (Wilson's 636/ I) area around orange brown beard. Excellent branching, 38", Mid. to V. late. An elegant iris. NET $25.00. Knopf's Iris Garden.
