| From Schreiner's Iris catalog, 1948: MORNING MELODY (Becherer 1948) M. 38". The grace, purity and refinement of this beautifully formed, alluring soft orchid-lavender Iris caught our eye the moment we saw it. For years we have been on the lookout for just this shade of filmy orchid and in this Iris we have found what we have been looking for. The elegantly styled blossom with accompanying white beard is just right for the lovely harmony of the entire flower. Good sized flowers on wellbranched stems, a good grower. Most Iris of this color are either several shades too deep or they have considerable yellow in their composition. $15.00. |
| From Iris Test Garden catalog, 1955: MORNING MELODY. (Becherer, 1948). A self of soft orchid-lavender, with charm and refinement. A white beard completes the lovely harmony of the flower. Goodsized blooms nicely poised on wellbranched stalks. 38 inches. Midseason. $2.25. |
