From Pacific Coast Hybridizers catalog, 1992: MOUNTAIN LIGHTNING (Ken Mohr '92) $35.00. A digging mistake resulted in the loss of most of the stock to this variety, but we can now release this beautifully ruffled, wide and round dark blue-violet self, accented by the lemon beards that are tipped white. With its satin finish, this iris has great refinement and blooming in the late garden, it has the substance to stand up to warm and hot weather. With two branches, spur, and terminal, the stalks carry seven or more buds. |
