From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: NANKEEN. (Whiting, 1947). Clear, cool Chinese-yellow enlivened by soft rays of chrome-yellow smoothly spread over the whole flower. Massive in size but well proportioned and carried on tall well-branched stalks. Stays fresh and attractive in all kinds of weather. A radiant iris for garden effect and will attract much comment when exhibited. $2.SO. |
