'Night Ruler' (Schreiner, R. 1990). Seedling# T 75-B. TB, 39" (99 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards dark purple (RHS 79A); falls black (202A); beards black; ruffled. Seedling# I 198-B: (seedling# D 791-J: (seedling #A6 71-1: (('Black Onyx' x seedling# N 371-1) x 'Grand Ball' sibling) x 'Matinata') x 'Navy Strut') X seedling# K 1300-B: ('Miriam Steel' x 'Ermine Robe'). Schreiner 1990. High Commendation 1988; Honorable Mention 1992; Award of Merit 1994.
