'Nightshade' (Louise Marx, R. 1956). TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-VB1D, Deep violet-blue self, blue beard. Two Marx seedlings. Marx 1956.

From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1957: NIGHTSHADE (Marx 1956) Each 3.00. Tall, clark and handsome--a blended self of smoothest deep violet blue, bold and outstanding. Even the beard is blue. Amazing also, how the color and lustre of the blooms remain undiminished to the last. Large fascinating flowers. Midseason.
