'October Sun' (O. David Niswonger, R. 1977). Seedling# 1-75. TB, 32" (81 cm). Midseason bloom and rebloom (October in Missouri). Full yellow self; yellow beard. 'Grand Baroque' X 'Swift River'. Niswonger 1977.

From AIS Bulletin #225 Spring 1977 Introducing OCTOBER SUN (Niswonger '77). 1-75: Grand Baroque X Swift River. TB & RE, Mid. and Oct., 32", fertile both ways, FYI. This is a full yellow self with nice proportions. It's being introduced primarily to be used in breeding remontants in order to add quality to this group of irises. It won't rebloom much further north than southern Missouri. $15.00. Cape Iris Gardens.
