Walter Moores, R. 1991). Seedling# 85-32-C. TB, 34" (86 cm). Early midseason bloom and rebloom (November in Mississippo). Standards deep gold; falls cream to white ground, maroon plicata markings blending to solid brown edge; beards mustard; ruffled.

- This iris has been one of my best sellers.
Like 'em; hate 'em. Fear they will corrupt the gene pool? Fear other irises will become infected?
What are they? Ben Hager called the standard markings in this iris 'mosaic virus.' Whatever it is appears to be totally harmless. These markings are what sells this iris and have never killed another iris, at least in my garden. Also, the markings never showed up in any progeny I grew. This iris would lose its appeal if it didn't have the markings.
Some have mistakenly called these markings 'broken color.' Ben was right. -- WalterMoores - 11 Jan 2010
