From Mid-America Garden catalog, 1989: OKLAHOMA CRUDE - TB, 33 (84cm), Midseason. Excitement abounded when oil was discovered in Oklahoma. This years AIS Conventioneers discovering Oklahoma Crude, the iris, were excited too. Satiny dark purple standards top the blackest, velvety falls imagineable. The falls are deeply ruffled too. Beards are white tipped mustard. This is a superb iris in all repsects. Breeding is different than most darks and along with it comes great vigor. The next generation should yield blacks with red beards and near black amoenas with red beards! A MUST! There are already advance orders. Sdlg. 8584A: 681-78: (Ruffled Ballet X (Peach Spot X Outer Limits)) X 83307A: (Mystique X Twist Of Fate) HM 1988. $30.00.
