1991, Lyons

'Orchid Pinstripe' (Ray Lyons, R. 1988) Seedling# 80-15-5. TB, 28" (71 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards white with orchid shading, veins and 1/2" creped stripe near tip; falls white, delicately veined lavender orchid over all, tiny tuck at midrib; light yellow beard; ruffled and laced. 'Petite Posy' X 'Mattie Silks'. Long's Gardens 1991. Exhibition Certificate 1985.

From AIS Bulletin #281 April 1991 Introducing ORCHID PINSTRIPE (Ray Lyons) 28" ML Sdlg. 80-15-5. 5-7 buds. "Different" and "Striking" best describe this iris. It is white, shaded orchid with distinct orchid veins on both standards and falls. A slight tuck graces the tip of each fall at the midline and a narrow band of crepe crosses near the tip of the standards. The standards are up and touch and the falls flare downward. The beards are gold tipped on very pale orchid. EC 1988. Petite Posy X Mattie Silks. $30.00. Long's Gardens.
