From Cooley's Gardens catalog for 1937: "The Wm. Mohr seedling that stands almost 40 inches tall, with giant flowers of a uniform grey-lavender veined violet. There is a faint rosy glow over the entire blossom. … Unlike it's famous parent, it produces seed from a number of interesting crosses planted in his garden. Wm. Mohr is so adverse to taking pollen successfully that only three or four instances of it's doing so are known. ORMOHR is derived from crossing Wm. Mohr with Anakim, and this latter variety came about by crossing Loetitia Michaud with Bruno. Thus we now have in the new Ormohr a result that is not only different and rare, but one that combines a quarter Bruno blood … something that in itself holds great promise. The plant has proven it's ruggedness in a trying winter with low freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and late spring frosts, entirely without protection. It bloomed prolifically, as the illustration shows. the flowers are not only larger than Wm. Mohr but much better balanced in form. Shown on the cover. A wonderful acquisition for the plant breeder or the seeker of novelties."
From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: ORMOHR. Very large pale lilac silvery cast veiled violet. A large, tall iris worthy in all good collections. 50c.

From Milliken catalog, 1945: ORMOHR (Kleinsorge). Giant flowers of a uniform grey-lavender veined violet, almost 40 inches tall. A faint rosy glow envelops the entire flower and unlike its well known parent, William Mohr, it has a tall stem that branches near the top and is evidently perfectly hardy and easy to grow. $1.50, 3 for $4.00
From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: ORMOHR (Kleinsorge '37) M 40" (Wm. Mohr X Anakim). A large violet Mohr which is a good pod parent. One of its offspring, 'Lady Dozier', received an H.M. '51. $.60
