From G. G. Whitelegg catalog, 1921: PATRICIAN. A grand Iris of the" Dominion" type, with very large well-formed flowers somewhat similar to that variety. The Standards are very broad and smooth, light violet-blue in colour. The Falls arc very broad and flat hanging, rich deep velvety purple with bold reticulations at the hafts and a conspicuous bright orange beard. Not particularly free flowering, but reliable.
