From AIS Bulletin #237 April 1980 Introducing PETALUMA (Don Denney, 1980). TB, EM, 36". The spectacular thing about PETALUMA is its branching: Five-way, wide, near candelabra and starting from the ground. Multiple buds produce a very long bloom season for an established clump. The very large, ruffled blossoms are of a dusty rose color (RHS 181B) with a violet flash in the falls. Plant habits are vigorous, but increase is slow. Seedlings show great promise for rapid advancement in the quality of flowers and plant vigor in the red color class. (Orinda X War Lord). $30.00. Cottage Gardens. |
