From Quality Gardens catalog 1930: PHRYNE (Cayeux, 1925) E. 42". A cross between Mme. Durand and Lord of June. Enormous flowers, second in size only to Peerless and to Cayeux’s new Nene. S. lavender shading to rose. F. reddish lilac shaded silver gray at the edge. Very distinct and beautiful. This iris attracted unusual attention in our garden last spring. A wonderful iris. Should be in every fine collection. $4.50.
