1956, Knopf

'Plum Lovely' (Mary Ellen Knopf, R. 1956). Seedling #H.S.52. TB, 40" (102 cm), Early, midseason and late bloom. Color Class-RV3. Red-violet bitone. Standards Wilson 931/1, falls 934; brown beard tipped blue, violet style crests. 'Hoosier Sunrise' x 'Sable'. Knopf 1956. HC 1955.

From AIS Bulletin #142, July 1956. Introducing PLUM lOVELY (Ellen Knopf '56). Dark velvety plum colored, rumed form of good texture and substance on 40-inch stalks. Good branching. Early midseason to late bloomer. Won seedling cup in Region 14 in 1955 also H.C. (HOOSIER SUNRISE X SABLE) $20.00. Knopf Iris Gardens.
