| From AIS Bulletin #209 April 1973 Introducing PROUD HERITAGE (Sdlg. 68-30A) TB, 36", Early-Mid. ((Rippling Waters x Gypsy Lullaby) X Arctic Dawn)). Recipient of Region 18 Judges Award Cup in 1971. This very heavy substanced regal beauty is near perfect in every respect. Large ruffled pure White self enhanced by a deep yellow beard. Standards stiffly held and overlapping, wide semi-flaring falls, very clean hafts. Ten gorgeous blooms ideally spaced on heavy 36" bloomstalks are long-lasting. Vigorous grower, wide deep green foliage. Excellent breeding potential. HC '71. RTG '71. $25.00. Marvin Olson.
| PROUD HERITAGE (Olson '73) was one of the first whites to bloom and I was really taken by surprise: it is a large flower with personality, which is a difficult quality to describe. To say that the standards are perfectly held in place over ruffled and flaring falls is accurate, but it doesn't completely convey the message. A one year plant produced one healthy bloom stalk with seven buds, all timed well. Proving to be a good grower, this is a new white that really earns its place in the garden.
