Introducing QUEEN ANNE (Sdlg. 162-51) Both standards and falls beautifully ruffled and 'Laced' heavily. Lovely light creamy lavender. $15.00. Diehl's Gardens. | |From Diehl's Garden catalog, 1956: QUEEN ANNE (Sdlg. x Chantilly) L. 32". $15.00. A large, well branched flower of very heavy substance and smooth texture. The closed standards are a soft creamy-lavender, and the semi-flaring falls are a lustrous light lavender, with a yellow beard and light yellow shading on the haft. Both the standards and falls are beautifully ruffled and both have the lacy or crimped edges of Chantilly, only heavier. A finely formed flower of regal bearing, and a good parent both ways. A late bloomer that will prolong your iris season. Queen Anne was greatly admired at the 1955 Convention where it was shown under No. 162-51.| | | --- %INCLUDE{"AdmTbInsert"}%<br />--- %COMMENT{ type="bottom"}% -- Main.RPries - 2011-03-07
