| From AIS Bulletin #229, Spring 1978 Introducing QUEEN'S SPLENDOR-Sdlg. F-22. TB, 38", M. (Apropos X Margarita). A distinctive iris-nothing like it in the garden. Closed white S. with lavender influence at base. The broad F. have a bright lavender wash which fades to white at edges. The beard is lavender with yellow in the throat. The falls flare for half their length and then roll in a graceful curve, adding to the beauty of the entire flower. This iris is an imposing architectural masterpiece with four huge blooms open at once on a ramrod straight stalk. Sib to the popular Modern Venus, but entirely different. $35.00. Sellman's Iris Gardens.
