1978, Zurbrigg

'Radford Red' ( Lloyd Zurbrigg, R. 1978). Seedling# H 78 H H. TB, height 38" (97 cm). Midseason bloom and sometimes rebloom (in Virginia). Deep red, blended brown; near self beard. 'Fire Siren' X 'Red Polish'. Avonbank 1978.

From AIS Bulletin #229, Spring 1978 Introducing RADFORD RED-A splendid, lovely red from the brown side. It is tall, well-branched, well-formed and quite smooth. One of the most fragrant of iris, with a sweet, spicy odor. Fertile both ways. Nonremontant most seasons. $25.00. Avonbank Iris Gardens.
