'Rainbow Mist' (Jean Stevens, R. 1953). Seedling# 5/V8i. TB, 32" (81 cm), Early midseason bloom. Blend, pale silvery orchid with gold suffusion. 'Paragon' x 'Floral Dance'. Schreiner 1953.

From Schreiner’s catalog, 1953: RAINBOW MIST (Stevens 1953) E. 33". Page 8. Far too subtle for printer's ink is the frosty, opalescent sheen of this sparkling lavender-pink. So ethereal is its silvery iridescence that it threatens to deliquesce into a mist before one's very eyes. Happily named RAINBOW MIST is far more beautiful than the engraver would have us believe. One of the few iris in these luminous tranquil color tones. $15.00.
