From Sass catalog, 1948: RAINBOW ROOM (Jacob Sass, 1946)- A remarkable new blend so named because it seems to us to contain all the colors of the rainbow. S. Anthony yellow. F. bordered Anthony yellow and merging into lilac color leaving a metallic blotch at the end of the beard in the center of the fall which gives a striking contrast. Yellow beard. Medium to large flowers on 36-inch branching stems. (H.C. 1945). $25.00
From Fleur De Lis catalog, 1956: RAINBOW ROOM (Sass 1946) M. L. 36 in.(Hans Sass 50-36:- A larger and slightly more golden Rameses x Matula). Standards pale yellow flushed light copper and tinted lilac. Falls. iridescent lilac with border of coppery yellow and blue flash at tip of beard. A.M. 1951. 1.50
From AIS Bulletin 101 (Apr 1946); pp. 14-17: INTRODUCTIONS BY JACOB SASS ... RAINBOW ROOM. TB No. 40-311. (H. P. Sass seed. 50-36 X Matula). H. C. 1945.
From Walter Marx Gardemns catalog 1957: RAINBOW ROOM (Sass 1946) Each 1.00. Seldom do we see so many multiple shadings of color so extraordinarily placed as in this iris with the ambitious name. Yet the performance nearly equals the name. The flower seems lighted as from within while the falls look as if dusted with gold crystals. Lovely ruffling adds to the perfect form.HM 1947, AM 1951.
