'Red Valor' (Nicholls 1939) M. A magnificent deep garnet red iris with the strongest substance and weather resistance of any iris that I have seen. The arched standards have a strong midrib and are firmly held. The falls are broad and flaring. A rich brown beard adds to the depth of color of this outstanding iris. Low branching. Gold Medal, Rome, Italy 1940. H.M., A.I.S. 1940. Per. R.[Performance Rating] 89 in 1941. 36 in. $7.50.
RED VALOR (Nicholls, 1939) - Good deep red, color not as deep as in
‘Captain Wells’; falls widely flaring, some venation on haft; beard not as heavy as in
‘Redward’.
