(TB) 'Rose Of England'

1939, Long

'Rose Of England' (B. R. Long, R.1939). TB. Midseason bloom. Color Class-R7M. ((sister seedling of 'Ivory Gate' i.e. ('Farandole' x 'Golden Vanity')) x ((seedling# 25/22/1 i.e. ('Mrs. Valerie West')) x ('Madame Cécile Bouscant' x 'Moonlight')). Bronze Medal, Iris Society (England), June 1939.

ROSE OF ENGLAND (Long)-A pink and lilac self from England that should be given partial shade. On a one-year plant, it was quite short, but I understand it will grow up. [Clifford W. Benson (Mo.), “Varietal Comments,” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 110 (July 1948): 96.]
