ROSE VIOLET. This is a very fine thing, and at first sight suggests a rosy Pendragon. It has that perfect form and velvetytexture and is a flower of above the average size. Standards violetand beautifully arched. Falls flaring, deep violet edged with palercolour. Fair branching-26". [G. L. Pilkington, "Iris Notes", A.I.S. Bulletin 74 (July 1939): 35.]
