From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: RUSSET WINGS. (J. Wills, 1946). M. A heavy substanced flaring flower of smoothly blended gold, copper and apricot, giving the effect of a glowing russet self. The standards are beautifully formed and firmly held, the falls are very flaring, delightfully ruffled at the edges. Bright in color, the flowers glow and sparkle. H. C., A.I.S., 1945. H.M., A.I.S., 1946. 38 inches. A.M., 1952. $1.00.
