From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: SAFARI. (Plough 1954). M.L. 30 inch. No. 48-53-1. (Firecracker x Late Sunset). A fancy type washed and striated plicata done in warm brown. The heart of the flower has a golden glow. The standards are bright tan with a yellow glint and are held firmly upright. The semi-flaring falls are rounded and held flat. They have a cream ground with an over all wash of tan the color of the standards. There is a small light area at the tip of the yellow beard. Carries pollen and should be a good breeder. $10.00 |

A new plicata in brown and whita, this has white standards with an all-over flush of brown, white falls with brown brushings and a white area at the tip of the beard.
