<ORIGINAL CATALOG DESCRIPTION: SARAH ASHCROFT 58-68 (E. and A. Watkins 1964) M.L. Clarity of color and beauty of form are combined in this delightful iris of clear Primrose Yellow (601). The flower has a pale green infusion that is a distinctive feature of the bloom. The standards are very ruffled and closely held by the strong midrib while the ruffled flaring falls are enhanced by the deeper yellow beard. It is most deserving of the High Commendation Award in 1962. 56-29 (Ice Carnival x Miss Christine) x Cherito (Corey) 35 in. $25.00. [Fairmount Gardens Catalog, 1964, p 5.] |
