From Longfield Iris Farms catalog, 1955: SEA MAID (No. 53-3) (Snow Flurry x Spanish Peaks) A completely self-toned flower of the palest tint of pale violet (Mauvette 537/3 Wilson), including style arms and crests. Beard is identical in color except for a golden glow lighting the deepest heart of the bloom. Standards are round, closed and ruffled; falls broad, slightly ruffled and semi-flaring. Has withstood three days of sun without losing its delicate coloring. Stems are 38-40 inches, the foliage is broad and dark green and has been free from leaf spot. $20.00. |
From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: SEA MAID (Robinson 1955) M. 40 in. (Snow Flurry x Spanish Peaks). A complete self of the palest tint of pale violet. The beard is the same color except deep in the throat where it is a light yellow. The standards are well domed and nicely ruffled and the falls are broad, semi-flaring with ruffled edges. 17.50. |
