'Sex Appeal' (James A. Mahoney, R. 1979). Seedling# 77/132. TB, 37" (94 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards pale yellow with pale violet wash 3/4ths way up; falls slightly deeper yellow, blending to tan at bottom, light violet wash with green veining from end of beard to edge; 1 1/4" horn extending from golden beard; pale yellow stylearms. 'Candleflame' X 'Spooned Blaze'. Shamrock Iris 1982.

From AIS Bulletin #245 April 1982 Introducing SEX APPEAL (Mahoney '82). Sdlg. 77/132: (Candleflame X Spooned Blaze). TB, 37", ML. Lightly laced and ruffled pale yellow with pale violet wash on both S. & F. Falls darkening to lt. tan at edge. Large blooming flower with 1-1/4" horns extending from golden beards. Good substance and increaser. Fertile both ways. $25.00. Shamrock Iris Gardens.
