'Shadow Magic' (Bernard Hamner R. 1976). Seedling# 70-5. TB, 33" (84 cm). Early to midseason bloom. Standards lobelia blue (RHS 91D), hafts and midrib deepening to 90D; falls dark violet-blue (90A); self beard; lightly ruffled. 'Strange Magic' X 'Apropos' x 'Berceuse'). Hamner 1977. High Commendation 1976, Honorable Mention 1979.

From AIS Bulletin #225 Spring 1977 Introducing SHADOW MAGIC-TB, 32-34", E-M. A neglecta with personality and masculine charm. Domed stands are lobelia blue, deepening to dark violet-blue along the midribs. The dark violet-blue falls are round and flaring. All petal parts are lightly ruffled. Self beard. A knock out!
