From AIS Bulletin #189 April 1968 Introducing SIERRA SPRING (Leo Clark, '68) Tall bearded. 34-36". Early to midseason. Kerr 57-6 X GAY PAREE. When we first saw this beauty, we knew Mr. Clark had a real winner. S. are creamy white; ruffled and closed. Wide, ruffled flaring falls same with bright clean lemon-yellow hafts and a wide edging of lemon around falls. Superb, wide candelabra branching and many buds. Flowers are very weather resistant; plant is vigorous and healthy. An outstanding iris of shocking brilliance for the Early garden. Guested for 1968 bloom at the Corlew, Moldovan, Terrell and Ghio gardens. $25.00. Sierra Vista Iris Garden. |
