From Sunnyside Gardens catalog, 1944: SILVER AND GOLD (Tobie, ’42)—Ethel Peckham X Triptych. I was one of seven judges to recommend this Iris for an H. C., in Mrs. Tobie’s garden, June, 1942. Description by Mrs. Nesmith: “Standards broad and roundly domed with midrib of greenish yellow, flushed and veined with gold. Falls flaring with yellow at the throat.” The flowers are large and of pleasing form, on tall, well-branched stalks. Scented, early. H.C., A.I.S. '42. $10.00. |
