From AIS Bulletin #133, April 1954. Introducing SILVER HAWK (50-62. H.C.'53). Silvery cream with chartreuse sparkle; satin smooth flowers of remarkable substance on tall stalks. Silver by comparison with Golden Hawk, its pod parent; ruffled flowers are its heritage from pollen parent, Spanish Peaks. Net $25.00. Ken Smith.
From M. Oliver Flower Farm catalog, 1958: SILVER HAWK (K. Smith '54) M. 42" The large full blossoms of this Iris have a light chartreuse overlay on the falls. This with the pale green midrib of the standards and a beard of the same tone give it a crystalline sparkle throughout. The blooms are very large, very ruffled and have especially strong, firm substance, H.C.'53. $7.50
