From Tell’s Iris Garden catalog, 1955: SKY DYE (Mrs. Ralph S. Nelson). M. (Helen McGregor x Blue Valley.) This is the beautiful large near-sky-blue which the few discriminating judges saw and admired so much as seedling No. 52-4. The standards are domed and the falls are flaring and very wide with just enough wave and lilt to give the heavily substanced flower great charm. Not just another blue, but one of distinction. The 36-inch stalks are nicely branched. With such a pedigree can anyone doubt its quality and potentialities as a parent? $15.00 |
