From Milliken iris Garden catalog, 1945: SLEEPY HOLLOW (Milliken) The rich velvety deep violet flowers of this vigorous variety make a stunning color note in the garden, the color carrying well despite its dark shade. We expect this variety to become more and more popular as soon as its beauty and useful landscape qualities become generally known. 2-1/2 feet. $2.50, 3 for $6.50, 12 for $25.00.
From Wayside Gardens catalog, 1954: SLEEPY HOLLOW - Each 75c, Three $1.80, Doz. $5.65. Handsome iridescent, rich, velvety, deep violet flowers. A stunning deep color note in the garden; regardless of its depth the color carries well. Grows about 2~1/2 feet high, excellent foliage and blooms freely. This fine variety will be used in great numbers because of its exceptionally good landscape qualities.
