From Keith Keppel Iris catalog, 2017: SMOKY DUSK M 39” (Adriatic Waves X Hearty Burgundy) #10-118B. In the rush for bluer blues and clearer violets, sometime the “art shades” are overlooked. Here is a smoky wine to help fill the void. Smoky plum wine standards, falls just a shade darker and bluer. Beards, an odd greenish lime yellow, sit on a small haft area with white, brown, and grape reticulations. Form is wide and somewhat blocky, but nicely ruffled. Growth and performance excellent, with stalks averaging 7-9 buds. EC, Salem, 2016. $50.00.
