From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1964: SPANISH AFFAIR (Shoop '61). Much like Real Delight but more startling due to much greater contrast in colors. Standards light apricot salmon, falls pale yellowish apricot with extra large, brilliant tangerine beard contrasting strongly with a large white signal. The falls extend out, then downward, making beard stand out with exceptional prominence. HC'60, 8th Award at Florence, Italy'63. George Shoop's 1961 SPANISH AFFAIR is vibrant orange-tinted apricot with a lighter area in the falls. In the last rays of the setting sun, it was alive with little dancing fires which added to the conviction that this would be a good breeder in the quest for "something different."
